GW2 Coin Collector Achievements in Dry Top

These are the guides I made for getting all the coin collector achievements for Dry Top in Guild Wars 2. I even managed to get the Hit and Run achievement in there on the Prospect Valley vid. :D These are all of the locations of the coins in order of ease, not in order of the achievements themselves.

GW2 Winter Wonderland (Wintersday 2016 Jumping Puzzle) Farming

Rawr! Wintersday has arrived in Guild Wars 2 and people want lots of presents! The fastest, best way to get them is farming the Jumping Puzzle, Winter Wonderland.
I realize some people don't feel like they are great at jumping puzzles, but hopefully this helps you farm easier. If you really can't do the puzzle, no matter what, the second best way to farm is the Choir Bells. Good Luck, and happy Wintersday! Rawr!

GW2 Open Letters Achievement

A new Current Events achievement was added with Wintersday 2016, called Open Letters. It is pretty easy to do, and here is the guide for it. :)
Be aware, that you MUST do this achievement on a character who has already done the first 3 chapters of Living Story Season 3. Rawr!

I did promise to make a video with the other hungry kitties in it, and here it is, so between this video and my other one, you can have every single cat in the game come live with you and love you. :)
This is how to get all 9 class cats, and also how to get the snow leopard cub!
If you wanna see the other video without having to look for it, so you can have every single cat currently in the game, it is here: https://youtu.be/FHpt3MS1ajI

GW2 Thorough Sampling Achievement

Here's how to get all of the Icebound Chests in Bitterfrost Frontier for the achievement Thorough Sampling. You will need to have Guild Wars 2's season 3 chapter unlocked: A Crack in the Ice, to do this. Most of the chests are super easy to get, and only 5 are up in the Bitter Cold area which you need an elixir to enter.

GW2 New in Box and Cold Feet Achievements

Rawr! So, here are two achievements from the living story season 3 chapter: A Crack in the Ice, which are both super easy.
During the story, you do New in Box by running ahead to get the toys, and then later, when you go to Bitterfrost and you drink your elixir, the diving spot for the zone is super easy to get to and jump from. Two very quick little achievies :)
If you are looking to do the other achievement from the story part with Aurene, that is also easy, but pretty self explanatory. Still, if you didn't realize, just kill the portals FIRST, then help the wounded Vigil. :)

GW2 Quirky Quaggen Quest

Here is how to do the Quirky Quaggen Quest achievement in Guild Wars 2 in the Bitterfrost Frontier.
This is not in order of the stanza, but in order of ease to do, for me personally. Rawr :)
I also point out a couple unbound chests, and how to get the Leopard Cub for your home instance.

We also found a few icebound chests and got the Playing Chicken achievie, just by stumbling upon it :D

In this one same thing, SPOILERS, our reactions to more, exploring more, more chests, and we found the baby leopard cub you can get to love you by melting the ice it is inside of. It will then live in your home instance and follow you around lovingly. :)
Hope everyone is enjoying the new content! Rawr!

GW2 how to use the trading company to make profit (gold)

I see people complain a lot in Guild Wars 2 about wanting gold, when gold is very obtainable, but they don't use the Black Lion Trading Post correctly.
You really only need to, when selling, do two things- be aware of the math on how best to sell your item, whether as a raw material or as a crafted item, and to be aware of bulk selling vs not bulk selling. I tried to explain both in this video.
Everything in the game gives you things to sell, rewards, for doing whatever you did. Knowing how best to get something out of those rewards is the actual way to make gold in the game. Sure there are methods of transmuting stuff, or mystic forge use, but really, no matter what, these two rules always will be valid, once you get your items you wanna get gold out of, because you still will need to sell whatever you made. When selling on the trading company, these two simple concepts are the truth about making gold.

GW2 Hungry Cats including Feline Familiar!

Here's how to get all the in home instance cats to come live with you currently in the game, except 9, which are class specific. I will have to do those another time.
Just feed the cats the proper food, and they will all love you and live with you!

GW2 Halloween! 2016

Rawr!

So, Halloween is here, and GW2 has the Mad King back and all his twisted fun. Not a ton is new this year. Still there are some cool things. Firstly, they turned Diminished Rewards (DR) OFF for the labyrinth. That is right, OFF! So you can farm unhampered all the loot and trick or treat bags you can carry. :)

Also, there are a couple new mini's, which is no surprise, and things like that, but the real thing is the continued theme of in home cats. If someone uses their broom, number 5 skill, they summon the Feline Familiar (note, this is not the same as the mini feline familiar). If you go to bloodtide coast, and do the frog heart (first one you come across when you leave Lion's Arch) the heart vender will then sell you frogs in jars. You wanna buy the GREEN (masterwork) Frog in a Jar, and then when you walk up to someone with the Feline Familiar out, you should get a special skill that pops up, cat in the hat, and boom, the cat will want your frog in a jar, you will get a cute witch cat for your home instance from then on. It will live near your Candy Corn node. :)

I have run the clock tower, and beat it, destroyed hours in the Labyrinth, played Mad King Says too much, and murdered at costume brawl :D The whole event is just fun, as always, and for any Sadists out there, go listen to the conversations the Mad King has. You might just enjoy it extra :D

Anyhoo, hope everyone is having fun, whatever you play, and enjoying costumes and sugar :D Rawr!

GW2 Hungry Hal Achievement

I made a guide for the Hungry Hal Achievement, which basically is to feed Hal the Hermit Ember Apples, in the new Living Story content for Guild Wars 2, Rising Flames. Remember, once you feed him one, he will want 49 more! :D
Rawr! Seriously, he wants a lot of apples for you to get all your achievie points, but at least with this, you can know how to easily do it.

Rawr! More Guild Wars 2 and how it differs from most MMORPGs!

Rawr! So I have played MMORPGs since the dawn of the MMO, and have played an actual half of them at least that have been made. I have seen the 'standard' done over and over, with little tweaks, and I must say that Guild Wars 2 does not fit the typical pattern most MMOs tend to go.

This video demonstrates some of the differences that are not common in other MMOs. There are many more than merely these examples, and I am NOT saying that no other game has any of these things. I AM saying that these things help add a uniqueness to GW2 that most MMOs lack, being so cookie cutter in gameplay and style from each other. If you have ever wondered about GW2, but were unsure of what it offered, here is a peek at some ways GW2 differs from most MMORPGs. And if you have never played it, I def would suggest trying it.

Tequatl the Sunless Achievements

Tequatl the Sunless! Rawr!
Everyone knows him. He has been around forever. His achievements have even been around a long time, and yet, I see in guild chat at minimum every two months someone asking about how to do these, especially the hopping waves achievie, so here is the answer I made for them. I watched other videos and found them outdated or way too hard looking, when this is actually a super easy set of achievements to get.

Even besides the achievies, there is the chance for ascended off of him, 4 extra chests besides your main treasure as well, so many people make Tequatl part of their daily routine. He's an old, easy loot dropping dragon. :)

There's something in the water! Something shiny... Rawr!

Guild Wars 2: Current Event!

I actually went ahead and made a video for the current event going on in the game, because I am so excited about the future implications of this. I am loving all the content from Anet right now, and I can't wait until the fruition of it all comes to be! Spoiler free, but not excitement free. Rawr! :D

Crafted the Bifrost!

Rawr!

So, I like rainbows in real life. And not just cuz I am a lesbian. I actually get excited when I see them, like a little kid. One of the happy things in life.

Anyhoo, in Guild Wars 2, there is a legendary staff that is all about the rainbows, called the Bifrost. To buy it off the Trading Co. was priced at over 4k gold. To buy just the precursor to build it, a staff called The Legend, it was up for over 1k.

I made a gift of mastery long ago when I played before, just cuz I knew I wanted a legendary someday, and all the legendary weaps at that time required it to make. I also had 30 mystic clovers from WvWvW tracks I had completed before, and I had over 100 of every teir 6 crafting mat. I had 50 unidentified dyes, and 305 elder wood planks. 6 spirit wood planks. about 50 or less of every other kind of wooden plank. and about 10 pigments of every color. Oh, and 100 karka shells.

That is it. I had to buy all the other materials to make my Bifrost. I am talking all the globs of ectoplasm, the torture of the 750 Crystaline dust. I had to buy all the rest of the 54 spirit wood planks required, the 10 elonian leather. And yes, all that elder wood. All the iron and copper. All the rest of the T6 mats and pigments and crystal orbs, lodestones, passion flowers, so on so forth. The list is quite long.

In total, I spent just over 1150 gold. For a weapon that was selling for over 4k. The Legend was 950 by itself to actually craft. It took me 5 days. Honestly, the part 1, where you run around leaving bloodstone dust at the kennings, that was actually kind of fun, and wasn't hard.

Part 2 was literally just a money sink. I spent the entire time at the Lion's Arch Trading Co., running between it and the Artificing Station. It was just monotonous, but not hard. Hardest part was watching all my gold drain away :D

But while buying for all the other things I had to make, I also started buying for the future, and used BUY ORDERS, almost entirely. Some things I bought outright, but mostly, I don't think I could have afforded it without buy orders. I had 86 gold left to my name period after I finished all of this.

Part 3 is where it got loooooong. I lucked out, and got the Shatterer crystal part first try. I know, lucky. I got my Jade Maw eye, ran around getting laser'd and did my crystal testing all fairly quickly. I gathered my ooze globs, made most of my jars of paint and painted pictures. I even got my iron node farm done for the cobalt.

I was excited. All I had left after 3 days of work, thus far, was to gather some dioxide from coral, and to actually craft The Legend and the Bifrost.

It literally took 2 days straight, farming for over 10 hours each day, to get my dioxide off the coral nodes. I farmed almost 400 nodes. I thought, maybe it was me, but no, there were forums posts about it, multiple posts. The drop rate is just that horrible. Let me be clear, the HARDEST part of this whole process was the sheer tedious, not fun, coral farm on multiple toons. I swam for hours, flipping between characters to do the maps over again. It sucked so bad.

But finally, I got my last dioxide, squealed with delight and relief, then rushed onto my artificer, made my last jar of paint, painted my last painting, and boom!

The Legend was done! I just needed to finish my gifts. I farmed the rest of my mystic clovers in the mystic forge (toilet) :D.
And then made my first legendary. Bifrost.

I stayed up a few hours past my bedtime, jumping around with it, happy, so full of adrenaline that I wouldn't have been able to sleep anyhoo, despite being worn out. I happily indulged in being glad I had it, proud of myself for all the effort. I crafted my first legendary, and let me tell you, it made me partially want to immediately start crafting another one, and at the same time, promise myself that I would never craft one again :D

I am broke now, but I have something that is precious. I have a rainbow following me everywhere I go. I have a staff with stats I want. I have pride in knowing I earned it. I dove into the experience, once decided I was gonna do it, determined, hardcore, but I am kind of glad I did it that way. It was a frenzy, a rush, cept the frustration of the coral nodes, :D.

If you have never crafted a legendary, in GW2, a legendary actually feels legendary. They are actually rare, hard to obtain, and more than a status symbol, they actually are useful too. They will always be the best weapon in the game, even if new weaps with new higher stats come out, Anet adjusts the stats of legendary weaps to compare. Double sigils, double infusions.

But even more than any of that, for me, is now when I look at myself I feel that warm fuzzy like I am a kid excitedly noticing a rainbow watching over me from the sky. I want to jump up and down. And the rainbow will never go away. Gw2, even if I stopped playing for months, I could log in at any time and see it, at no extra cost to myself. I appreciate that. I appreciate my rainbow being a constant. I finally did go to bed, and I woke up still feeling that feeling. That's the real reward of crafting my Bifrost. :)

Pokemon Go and GW2

Rawr!

So, I have still been playing a lot of GW2 with my wife, and we are still enjoying it. I gave in and bought Heart of Thorns, and am so very glad we did. Not only is gliding fun, masteries helpful, auto loot wonderful, and the new builds interesting, but now we get to enjoy the new Living Story, and thus far, it has been quite excellent. :)

So, while out and about, we realized that we don't exercise as much as we should, and my wife said she wanted to take walks, but felt no reward. We are gamers, so we decided to give in and try the Pokémon craze...

Pokémon Go was super boring the first time we tried it, so much so, that we actually deleted it when we got home. We walked for 45 minutes, went to 3 Poke' stops, and caught 1 single Pokémon, because only one showed up.

My brother, who is also an adult, said, 'no no, go play in a park', that is where lures get dropped and you get Pokémon every couple minutes.

So, we tried our local park, and still nothing. The only place we actually have found any lures being dropped is by the public library, downtown.

So basically, we haven't deleted it, even though it has bugged out more than once, and even though it kills my phone battery, simply because we keep seeing people obsessed with it, and we figure we must be doing it wrong. Even at the library, where they spawn every 5 to 10 minutes, we find ourselves not really interested. It isn't exciting enough. I would rather just walk with my wife normally than do this, as it is. That would be more interesting. At least we'd have conversations uninterrupted by a trembling phone.

The only 'fun' part of the game thus far for us at all is she likes collecting things, so when we get a new one, she likes to look at her Pokedex, and I like the neat memorials and murals it guides you toward visiting. Otherwise, just huge boredom.

I would rather be home doing WvW than walking around staring at my phone hoping something actually cool will pop out instead of more weedles. Shrug.

Guild Wars 2 July 2016

Rawr!

So, since starting up with GW2, I so far haven't gotten sick of it, and it is July. It is somewhat of a grind at max level for sure, but there are enough various ways to do the grinding for gold, that it doesn't get tedious.

The Ley-Line events are not the most involved events ever, but they are something that keeps changing, while the rest of the world is settling in for me. I did get season 2, and have been playing it with my wife, and frankly, we love Jory and Kas, but besides that, the story is more of a few 'Ah ha!' moments and not super special.

It is all a little above ok. I don't get super excited to play and such, but since we haven't finished the season 2 stuff, we haven't gotten HoT yet, which I can already see the value in, and we do intend to get it. We just don't want to be lost in the story or anything. We want to know what is happening. So there isn't a rush.

Plus, honestly, I feel like once all of the story stuff is over, the exploration is complete, and the farming begins, it will go back to feeling like the grind for gold. I want to delay that feeling. So I am not rushing to max content. Right now, everything is going along fine, and that is good enough.

I will say that I do hope someday they make Season 1 of the Living World content into chapters and put it in the gem store. When we stopped playing, Scarlet Rose was a new enemy, Jory had literally just met Kas, and the Zephyrites were just a bunch of people wanting us to play sanctum sprint and get dream catcher back armor while watchknights were disrupting things while Queen Jenna was trying to have a celebration.

It would be cool to see the middle part, and while I am looking forward to some holiday events to come around to add a tiny bit of spice to things, mostly, I am actually pretty content with the game.

One thing I will say, is that WvW is not dead for my server. I have seen people mention that WvW is not very active, but it is actually something that I have been enjoying a decent amount. Could help that I am in the rank 2 servers.

Anyhoo, the adventure of gaming is kinda mellow at the moment, but still going, and still engaging, so GW2 is where we are staying.

MMORPG- what I want

Rawr!

So, my wife and I have written out a list of things we actually want in an mmorpg.
After trying a bunch of stuff, watching reviews, reading up and mostly, just being disappointed in the free to play companies, we decided to stick with what we really care about, and not get caught up in reviews about things that we don't.

So, this is just for us, but:

Story over combat
awesome Music
rewarded for achieving
hate deleted content
lots of inventory space
spacious market board
no feeling left behind
no limit on gold
attainable achievments
multiple crafting/gathering
collectables
good character customization
interesting races
GOOD CASH SHOP
open world

Some people might disagree, but for us, this is what we love about mmorpg's, as a couple. I play to be able to feel my imagination pulled at, and to always have more to collect. I am a completionist, and I love feeling inspired to collect, rather than it being drudgery.

I feel like a lot of stuff has moved toward pvp eliments in gaming with the generations younger than me, and that is ok. But I just care more about the world in a game, than the combat. To me, combat gets very repetitive. Shrug.

Right now, we are playing GW2, and so far, returning after the April patch has been a good thing. It fixed some of my reasons for leaving in the first place. It is a little grindy, but, overall, it mostly has our list covered, and mostly is better than most.

Rawr! F2P MMORPG/MMO's

Rawr!

So, I have looked into soooo many mmo's and mmorpg's at this point, and can I just say, what are developer's thinking? Most of them are crazy cash shop's that are more like a scam than an actual game model. Some of the games might be fun, but because of the money methods, the game is worthless, and some of the cash shops might be ok, but the game is really nothing to write home about.

I have found some that seem to have decent gameplay and decent cash shops, such as Path of Exile, or Tera, but oh my goodness! I have never been into never ending grinds, and both are just that. The combat is action based, so less boring that your typical WoW clone, but the grind is real. And the community in Tera is very League of Legends maturity level as far as I can tell. Mostly, there is a ton of sexist, racist, abusive, comments and bullying, and overall aggression shown in the chat, and so on. I don't get how people can stand toxic environments like that. I just ignore such people entirely, but I don't want to encounter them everyday I play a game. I play for fun, for inspiration and imagination.

There are some games that seem cute, or like a nifty idea, until you find out that no, no that is not happening. Looked into some things like, for instance, Dragomon Hunter, because my new wife thought it was adorable and we both like collecting in games, and found out that the company that runs it is pretty much totally known for terrible cash shops, so no Aura either, because, oh, wait, not only do they try to get you to spend money every single turn you make, but if you go long enough without spending, they will cancel your account due to "financial inactivity".

Then there was SWTOR, which I gave its own post. Won't even go into it here, but it was so very bad.

Wildstar, I didn't try, because it isn't my style of graphics, and I didn't want to look at it all the time, so to be fair, I didn't really look into it.

Lord of the Rings Online, I tried it, and EVERYTHING is gated behind money spending in that game too. Free to Play is terrible.

And then there are the pay to win offenders, much like Allods Online, games like Neverwinter and/or Aion, where you can buy your way to the top. I hate games like that too.

Rift, I used to play, and even enjoy, but it is all about the RNG boxes, which a lot of games have started having it seems. Too many games offending with this problem to count. You pay money, to GAMBLE with results. It isn't, "spend such and such and get such and such", so much as "spend such and such and get a tiny chance at the such and such you WANT, and get instead you'll get a bunch of worthless junk you don't need".

So, my choice is a game that is a constant grind, to get fair treatment and something that doesn't just have mediocre gameplay, or else something that is just 'ok' and not really a good game, but cheats you constantly.

So, after all this investigating, in April, GW2, which is a game I quit for very specific reasons a while ago, patched a lot of those reasons. So, I am currently trying it again, which it is a "Pay for the expansion once, and then don't have to spend again if you don't want to". It does have a cash shop, but it is a very well done one, where you literally don't ever have to spend a sent more than buying the expansions if you don't want to, and prefer to grind. Nothing in the shop will give you an advantage in combat over anyone, and they don't constantly tell you about all the things you should be buying whenever you come across an aspect of the game. The community seems less toxic as well.

Basically, the whole Free to Play thing is frustrating, because a lot of games look fun at first, and then really are just a huge let down. A ton of stuff seems interesting or even like a good idea, but it is buried under poorly designed issues and/or greed.

I didn't even bother with some things, even though they looked neat, for instance ArchAge, because the same company, Trion Worlds, makes Rift, and Rift I will not go back to. I basically have decided a grind is worth it, and will being hoping that everything works out.

Tried Star Wars the Old Republic...

Rawr!

So, after having to stop with FFXIV, which, again, was due to finances, and not the game even coming close to sucking, I searched around some, but mostly, one of my brothers begged me to try SWTOR. So I did.

Firstly, the game was fun in the choices during the story, and some of the writing was clever. The housing was very well done, imo.

Other than that... Just liking Star Wars was not enough to make me like the game. The combat was super basic, the content was extremely gated, and the access to even basic things was gated as well. You couldn't hide helmet without paying real life money. You couldn't make a one time purchase and have it be worth the price of buying, say, an expansion, because more content would come out later to pay for, but same thing for a subscription for a month, because as soon as you stop subscribing, and new content comes out, it is gated until you subscribe again. There was a cap on how much currency you could have, and it was a LOW cap, even for a preferred account, which, I stupidly thought would unlock more than it did.

I found out the hard way, that buying something for 4.99 or more, though it does unlock things like, 350,000 currency cap instead of 200,000, or more character slots, despite being a one time spend money and unlock perma these things, it does not unlock anything truly useful. It gives you two action bars more than the two you get free to play, and that is it.

For having to quit a game I actually liked due to money, and going to a 'free to play' to save money, SWTOR ended up costing so much, I quit just because it was so much MORE expensive. Seriously.

And it makes the whole game frustrating to play, to know that if you don't do this, or this, you will get gated. It literally, instead of rewarding you, for paying, punishes you if you don't spend enough, which, seems to never be enough.

The sheer amount of greed I saw revolving around this game made me want to cast away everything I actually like about Star Wars. Most games, either there is a predictable amount of fees, or realistic ones, but this cash model, it was just a total rip off, and that is coming from someone who played Allods Online!

I was very disappointed, and could not enjoy the game, despite a good aspect or two. None of the game was worth the cost or frustration, that even if I subbed forever, if I had the money, I would still have more to buy on top of the subbing even. It was just a lackluster game money sink.

And I guess that is the real thing, that the game was mediocre. They wanted me to spend money, constantly, on a game that wasn't even that great. The graphics were outdated, the combat boring, the dungeons lame, the space missions fun one time only, and the overall pace was crazy out of balance. I was lvl 44 doing lvl 30 story quests, and I was skipping all side quests that I could, and only doing main quests. Everything felt rushed and like you couldn't just stay and explore a planet without running the risk of hitting the max, free to play lvl, of 50. I couldn't take this game seriously, gameplay wise, or cash shop wise.

It was a game with a couple neat ideas, and a well done housing system, and then not a lot else.

FFXIV wishful thinking

Rawr!

So, I have enjoyed FFXIV. I really have. I haven't felt any hate for the game or anything like that at all. I have seen a few ways they could improve, but honestly, overall, great game. My prob is that financially, I had to quit.

Now, it might not be that much a month, but I am not the only one who plays. 30 bucks a month for my household to play might not be that much a month either, but currently, things have shifted and we really need to focus on other things.

So, Free to Play it is... Except, well, reviews and past experience have left me jaded with some free to play. I have played half the free MMORPGs out there, prob, period, and most are really just not awesome. Some pay to play games aren't awesome.

It will take a lot for me to be happy with a game, and FFXIV had most of what makes me happy in a game, so that makes it worse, but need is need.

I wish I could imagine FFXIV going Free to Play, but I know it would not happen. Yoshi has already stated as much, and I can't blame the reasoning. Free to Play often means frustrating to play. That alone, even besides added content rates would convince me :D

Life is what it is. I will find something else. I have already tried a couple games, and will post about them soon.

sooo hints at 3.3

Sooo....

They keep dropping little hints about 3.3, and have a live letter scheduled, but the tidbits, though small, seem interesting.

So far they have said that materia won't require the lvl 19 quest to remove anymore, from melding. That alone is exciting to me. I do have crafters all higher than 19, but anyone should be able to deal with their melds, imo. Raiders often just want to raid, same with pvp lovers or collectors. Not everyone finds crafting/gathering quiet. There are plenty of people who find it annoying and monotonous.

3.3 should also have flying FENRIR mounts. He supposedly will run on ice that leaves a trail, kinda like Frozone in the Incredibles movie. Fun.

Market board partial word searches I feel like not only is that good, but they could have done that a loooong time ago. FINALLY, is more how I feel about that :D

What we all really care about is the Anima weapon story continuing and letting us unlock changing our stats on our Anima weap. They said the stat changing will be on par with grade V materia, and personally, I am very excited about this change. I am sure anyone with a completed Anima is too.

3.3 also will mark the continuing of the Void Ark story and some new instance to do. No more Void Cancer, hopefully :D

There will be new weaps for Disciples of the Hand, new gear for Hand/Land and a new item lvl cap for them too. Will have to see how that works. Supposedly the current weaps will be useful in making the new ones.

Crafters will have new avenues for getting grade IV materia, but honestly, they are already almost all worth 15k or less on my server, some worth only around 3k. Cheap. I dunno why the market needs to be flooded with yet more, but oh well.

To prepare for apartment style housing in 3.4, 3.3 will have added land and such. Not sure if that is useful til 3.4, but they said it.

Something I personally am excited about are Treasure Maps leading sometimes to DUNGEONS, filled with treasure boxes at the end. That sounds cool to me.

There will be a new mount, the floating puff ball mount, to fly around on.

There will be new gear/equipment at the grand companies, but the Next Rank up seems to be 3.4 scheduled.

Obviously there will be tweeks to the Feast and pvp in general.

They are supposedly trying to have a HUD layout save option avail as well, so your UI can be saved to your class, and you can have different ones for different roles. I dunno how much I would use this, but some people prob would find that exciting.

Anyhoo, there will be more story, for Hildebrand and main story line and such, and they will prob have even more to announce at the live letter, but yeah, here are the tidbits they have dropped so far that I know of.

Hatching Tide and so on FFXIV

Rawr!

Welp, the current event, Hatching Tide, is Easter themed and even though there are mini games, little mini fates, and the rewards are better than the last event, Little Ladies Day, I felt like Little Ladies Day was more fun for me. This one, the story was over once done, and the only real reason to farm eggs is extra crystals once you have done everything two or three times. The barding is fun, so if you haven't done the story, do it, def, but Little Ladies, the voting to see who would get their pretty dress first, even though the reward for it was just glam, was more exciting, and the whole server lit up with party finders for voting for diff girls, plus, the city was alive with people petitioning for their favorite girl, all while the girls themselves were just NPCs.

I liked the impassioned state of players, and the overall feel of it building up to something. This event is fun, is fine, and even has, again, better rewards, but somehow it lacks the same feel, as if you are part of something with the whole server.

3.2 in general has been very good, though, and the 3.21/3.22 patches that included the feast. Love the new dungeons especially. But, then, I had a feeling I would. I have my Vath beast tribe maxed out, and now, there is a card player to duel triple triad with once you max Vanu Vanu and the Vath, so that is nice, since the mount/second minion was at rank 7. The boosted exp at rank 8 is nice too, though.

I fell for the new hairstyles, just like half the server, haha, and the new glams are EVERYWHERE. Sephirot is actually satisfying and a mechanic check more than a dps check, not that dps isn't important to a degree, but individual skill is more so, which I like.

The new alex's are mechanic based as well, which is more my style. I like burn 'em down bosses sometimes, but the point for me is not to rush through, but to have to use my brain to play. They are fairly doable even for a new person, though, specially first one.

And savage is what they promised, hard, but not first 4 savage hard :D Some FC's are beating it, our's not yet, but again, what is the point if there is never a challenge. I haven't found a single change I dislike, except I miss doing extra dps on my tanks, but, pld is def more balanced with the other two now, and I do understand how that is better. My fave parts were the return of Hilde (obviously) and the 'trick' SE played on players in the main story (no spoilers) hee hee.

Overall, 3.2 has been great to me :)

Tomorrow, for 3.2

Rawr!

So, right now FFXIV is down, and they are patching in 3.2, and I am excited. Tomorrow, when I get on (not at the 2am scheduled servers up time, prob more like 6am at the earliest) I will find myself with a whole lot of new things to do.

For now, while everything is down, I am cleaning my computer registry, options, so on, just cuz, and running all that monthly stuff that most people don't even do until they get a virus or someone yells at them cuz their computer is so laggy....

I am watching some youtube guides, trying to be prepared, and getting chores, and bathing, out of the way so that tomorrow I can give the new story, and new content my attention.

I want to first, log in and check my retainers, since patches always fluctuate the market, and then head to see the new primal themed gear for firstly, if the sets look cool on my character, and secondly, stats, oh I hope they have good stats.

Then I will get my quests for the new dungeons and raid and trial before heading over to unlock my gnath beast tribes... Then of course I will want to see the new prizes at the gold saucer, start capping my lores, and exchange my laws for esoterics.

I already have my books for my three tank classes to go full vit, and will pop them before diving into the new dungeons, hopefully the anti-tower first, because it looks amazing.

Then I will do some story, prob the Hilde story first, just cuz he is so hilarious and I am so happy he is back. I do care about Minfillia too, but honestly, Y'shtola is my fave, so once I got her back, I was good to go, haha. I am expecting that there will be some exciting twists and good moments.

Honestly, I can't wait. And it feels good to be this happy about upcoming content in a game every single patch.

3.2 comes out Feb. 23rd!

Rawr!

So Final Fantasy XIV patch 3.2 comes out Feb. 23rd, and it has a lot of changes.

Firstly, if you have been wanting more pvp stuff to do, grats on Feast.

Secondly, if you are a tank, and like me, you put everything into strength, well, switch to Vitality!

Thirdly, Hild, Minfillia, and more all coming in 3.2!

Fourth, Don't forget the Gnath beast tribes

Fifth, tombstone changes, coming, big time! No more law, no more soldier, though those ones were pretty much already gone, but yeah. Also, no more Esoteric cap, but new tombstones for new stuff.

Sixth, tons of new crafting recipes, glamour stuff, and housing improvements, like picking your own music.

Seven, new dungeons, new raids, and Savage will come out at the same time as the raid itself this time. Plus, diadem changes too, shorter times, shorter time until can do it again, and better rewards.

Eight, Materia changes, interesting, hope it works out.

Nine, Action Bar changes, I am curious to see them.

And ten, the Mentor system seems interesting too. I always like helping new people, so I am looking forward to something that rewards that.

If you want to read the notes yourself, here's where to see them:

It is coming soon! Rawr! :)

More about 3.2 and things I wish FFXIV would implement

Rawr!

So, more info about 3.2 has come out, and they are adding the usual trial (2 modes), raid(more alexander), 2 new dungeons(one a hard mode of a previous one, amdapoor keep, and the other new) updates to some things(can sell through retainers, more housing, mansions, updates, tweeks to things) some possible future updates to anima weapons and lord of verminion, and a new wolf den mode called feast.

There is more, like the advent children motorcycle mount and Zidane glamour set for veteran players, and even gnath beast tribe dailies, but honestly, I was hoping for some particular things.

Now, something I was wanting that is going to happen, obviously, is more story, both main quest line and side questing. Yay.

I have played for a while, and there are things I really wish they would implement, now that I have gotten more used to everything. Lord of verminion, I can only hope that the 'changes' that I don't know about yet are to make it more playable, because the que for it is HORRIBLE. There needs to be a way to play it without requiring another human to be at their desk besides the starting list of AI battles. Period.

Something else I would love to see is a flying Slephnir. Give him black raven wings if you wanna go historical, or black dragon wings if you want to cater to his evil side, or even have him run along atop a storm cloud with lightning that flashes the same deep red of his eyes, but he needs to fly.

Once your main class gets to 60, there should be some sort of buff that all your other classes get that makes them lvl up 10% faster, and, duties of the hand and of the land should lvl 20% faster. It gets really boring lvling the hand/land classes especially. Monotonous. I am not saying make it so they lvl instantly, or even close to that, but they are very sloooow to get higher.

I would love a new hunt addition that is a weekly group hunt. You walk up to the hunting bill board when in a party, and it offers your group a weekly group hunt of one of the A ranks in the world. This would give you something to do, in the world, with friends, for something useful, centurios, without having to join a party finder group of strangers to just spam world spawns. Some fun come together hunt, where you and your friends are spreading on the zone map looking for your boss together.

The sprout status for new players needs to be for longer, say twice as long as it currently stays.

At max lvl, your chocobo companion gets lost in the shuffle of instanced stuff. I wish there was something to do, that actually gave you something useful, that your chocobo was included on, like a type of zone similar to diadem, intended for one or two people and their chocobos. To me, that would be fun.

A random land only mount button. Random mount and random flying mount are great, but I would like to have land mounts do the land and air mounts do the air.

Some sort of raid or dungeon where the entire time you can change classes at any time. Some sort of reward in fun for people with more than one lvl 60 class, where they can use them, show off their gear on multiple classes in one single bout with huge bosses, and have to strategize what is most useful when, like, the boss becomes immune to str attacks and magic attacks, but not dex, so people with dex classes to 60 attack, and those without heal, but then it switches a minute later to magic attacks, but no dex or str. Something interesting and different, where you constantly have to stay on your toes with your classes, and actually have a reason besides completionism to gear up your alt classes. The multiple class system feels limited in this regard to me.

Airship travel from Ishgard to the other major cities and to the gold saucer. We are part of the alliance of kingdoms, all 4 now, and yet, Ishgard is still isolated? Make a storyline to unlock it, but make it happen please, cuz it doesn't make sense with the changes in Ishgard to keep Ishgard off to itself.

A reason to go back to beast tribe dailies after you have gotten your self to max rep, besides the longest way to get an anima weapon item or craftables, like, do the dailies and get a choice in reward from mgp to poetics/law. Something where you do it, and feel like, 'sweet, a boost to my currency of my choice!'

Thank you for changes to diadem to make it more explore based in the future, but can it also have some sort of treasure hunt besides the random spawn chests? Like, finding/getting/buying a map and/or riddle that if you solve gives some sort of special loot, like guaranteed 210s or something. Something that requires some brain function, some solving skills.

The mini games in our inn rooms need to save our best scores perma instead of resetting when we exit.

Moombas would be a fun beast tribe to add to the game...

Certain quest items need to be able to be added to the armoire, like the gentlemen outfit, the soldier hat and shirt you get scraps for, and even your starting city item you get when you finish your starter city chain, the gridania mask, or the shoes from limsa lominsa, so on. These sorts of items are solely for glamour, but they can't be stored as such.

MORE armory chest space, PLEASE. Your weapons especially. There is no room.

More uses for the items on the market board that are just spam of less than vender value. A way to desynth them or else use them as an actual mat for making something useful. All the worthless element resist materia, furniture that doesn't get used ever, the low lvl crafting mats, the poor fish and the potions and ethers. Even the spammed minions, the baby imp, the chubby puk. Maybe combine some mole meat with a kind of wall no one wants and some lightning 1 material to form a new wallpaper with moles and lightning on it. Something, I don't know. Worthless mats shouldn't exist. They need love too.

And a compare collection/manage collection page where you can favorite things like, your best mounts, minions, achievements, triple triad cards, so on, and other people can see your collection, and you theirs and you can compare things like, who has the most minions, or who has the more rare mount or card. Stuff that doesn't affect combat at all, stuff that is just for fun.

These are things I would love to see happen. Dunno if anyone will ever do it, but there it is.

Final Fantasy 3.2 announced!

So, SquareEnix announced today on the lodestone :

http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/

Exciting! Rawr!

So, firstly, that looks like a flying MGP turtle to me! Secondly Sephirot? The passage is about 'he' and 'doom' and if anyone has played FFVI, you have seen that guy before.

Thirdly, is FEBRURARY!

So, I am pretty thrilled, not gonna lie, and can't wait for more info. There should be a 'letter' in late January detailing more info, or even maybe announcing the patch. More content is on the way, and I still am enjoying what's out now. Love it.

Rawr :)
