Final Fantasy 7

RAWR!

So next vid is http://youtu.be/BzsA8IXckbk and is about Final Fantasy 7.

Anyone who ever played rpgs ever knows this is one of the greatest games of all time. The characters were engaging and you grew deeply involved in their world, you could litterally travel the world, and the gameplay was fun, the story epic, the side quests interesting, and there were so many little extra things to do.

There are too few compliments to give games like these, except one, imo. And that is the fact that the kids of today would not play it. Not because it isn't amazing still, but because the graphics are too outdated. I wish wish wish that Squaresoft would redo it with better graphics, but leave the gameplay totally untouched.

When they did Advant Children, I actually thought they would. I would sooo spend money on that. They didn't. I understand that some games should just go down in history as awesome. I also think they could have redone the graphics without ruining that. Sierra did it with Quest for Glory series. Square even attempted it a little with some cut scenes and all in the re release of the early Final Fantasies.

Why not make more money off of a great game that you KNOW will sell? I say they could do it without ruining the thrill and experience of the game. Some people might argue with me, but I genuinely feel that way.

Anyhoo, concur fantastically phenominal game. Disappointed never redid the look, leaving story and play in tact.

Pax and World Cup

RAWR!

So the next two vids were Pax Prime and League of Legends international finals. Pax held the national regional finals. I was lucky enough to get to be there!

At Pax, they handed out Aracade Sona skins, Riot Graves, and for the first 300 people, which due to being my brother's sister and him insisting we were over 2 hours early, got Pax Siv skin too! I luv my skins (well, cept Graves, don't really care about him) and in all honesty, I FREAKED out on Mrs. Ryze when I got it, and she just laughed and hugged me, about how much I LOVE Arcade Sona skin.

I love rainbows, love Sona, love classic gaming, and love the 80's. She is like Rainbowbrite gaming awesomeness and I love her. Thank you, Riot, for making her just for me ;). Anyhoo, the National Regional Finals were fun, and got lots of fun swag and all, and was sad CLG didn't take it, but least they placed. It was pretty awesome to be surrounded by all the other fans and the cosplayers and get stress ball oranges that have gangplank's face on them saying "It's K." thrown at your head all the time. :)

The matches were super exciting and cool to watch upfront, with the teams right there and the sweating of all the nerds clogging your nostrils and the cheer of the whole floor going up together at each ward defeated. Was awesome til the last pairing. Dunno what Dignitas had for breakfast, but it was not win.... TSM just flat out facerolled them. Dunno what happened to Scarra, but meh, anyhoo, the main thing is it was fun and totally worth going to.

The Guild Wars 2 launch party was fun, cept the line that litterally circled the upper floor of th emall 4 times... and some of the panels were cool, but mostly, other than that, I was kinda disappointed in Pax. A lot of the stuff handed out was junk, the swag bag line was over 2 hour wait to get stuff to just throw away, like..... crayons. litterally. There was almost nothing worth wasting money on buying, which is something I came to do, and the lines and the layout was very poorly planned. Shrug.

The International Championships I didn't get to watch in rl, just streamed it, but was still exciting. SOOO excited TPA won it! After M5 and CLG prime didn't take anything, I was cheering for TPA. That trophy is gorgeous. Oh! and btw, just saying, but the only USA team to actually WIN a game in the championships was ..... CLG prime. Cough.  (in your face tsm fanboys) ;)

I personally also love what Riot is doing with the teams and making Major League Gaming part of the League of Legend awesomeness so well. Pax prime could learn from LoL... just saying.

I do have to also give a shoutout to Smashmuck Champs for being the best panel at Pax, and a big thanks to my brother for putting up with me tagging along. I am a true gaming fan, even dressed up like a mesmer one day of the event, haha.

As for the games, CLG vs Curse was the longest game EVER, and it was epic watching them go at it. TSM vs Dig.... cough, fail, and then the World Finals TPA stomped it. So proud :).

I made two seperate video's for them each, one right as World Cup was being played for, so the quality sucks, meh, someone described me as a tomato in the dark, HAHA. :) I was just too excited for light ;). The vid for Pax Prime is http://youtu.be/MwlMDU3i9uI and for International Final World Cup reaction http://youtu.be/ZiQMsqzp50o .

Brigandine

RAWR!

My next vid, and last one with the poor picture, was for Brigandine and the vid can be watched at http://youtu.be/025sDCzcNS4 .

Brigandine was one of the best 'take over the world' games ever. Brigandine's second game was never released in USA, so I didn't get to destroy bulnoil :(, but still, the first was enough to make me still love it anyway. It is a game I repeatidly play to this day, when mmorpg's get boring once in a while.

The characters are developed, and the quests entertaining, the fighting keeps you strategizing and the mythological creatures you use to take over the world with are many and fun. Leveling up your monsters is as much/more fun than the people sometimes, and managing your armies, cities, items, questing, lvling, runepower, and so much, just, it is engaging.

You get a chance each month to get to make moves, summon more monsters, equip gear, and so on, and then also a chance to attack. You have to take over the whole world this way, and the people you do it with vary depending on whom you chose as your leader at the start. The storylines vary based on who you choose, who you beat first, and how long it takes you to defeat your enemies. The game can be beaten over and over and over with a different experience each time.

The graphics are dated, but the gameplay is still fun, and the game is now worth decent money, but I will never sell it. It is in my will to go to my brother, whom has tried to buy it off me many times, haha.

Oh, and you can also be the bad guys, in the game too, if you want an extra challenge/ storyline. Just use the code L2/R1 (hold), start, on the Character screen to be the Esgares Empire. Muah ha ha ha.

Anyhoo, one of my fave games of all time, is Brigandine.

Guild Wars 2

RAWR!
For my next vid it was Guild Wars 2. My youtube vid is at http://youtu.be/y1Q7EyFwQVg and again, same thing, didn't get new web cam yet, soz about bad picture quality.

Anyhoo, GW2 has some really great things about it. For one, it is not easy. It is very easy to hit 80. It is not at all easy to be good at the game.

You have to dodge. You have to choose wisely which skills will be available to use for what and when. Not being able to throw them all out on task bars forces you to hone your skill. Task bars would just inhibit your view from the rich world and breath catching graphics displayed almost endlessly before you, with mountains to climb, oceans to swim, forests to explore, caves to traverse, and fields to travel.

Guild Wars 2 has some flaws, repeated themes in zones, and not enough pvp is close quarters enough. Some of the quests feel like you've done them before, and there have def been some glitches. Some things are needlessly hard, and your home instance is kinda pointless without benig able to decorate it or do anything real with it, but overall, it is a truly fun game.

The main characters are interesting, and the primary character is you. You can customize your gear, your colors, your interactions so much, and the free to play aspect to me so far is working very well.

I am looking forward to what they do with this game in the future.

World of Warcraft

RAWR!

My next post was about WoW. World of Warcraft for noobs.

WoW used to be one of my fave games. I used to waste hours and hours playing it happily. I only got in on the tail of Vanilla WoW so don't get much room to talk there, but BC was awesome, and then.....
Northrend was good, but not Awesome to me. I felt like I had been to all the places in it in rl, for the most part. I did like the protodrakes, and I did like the lich king, but mostly, it started becoming WAY too easy. You could get better gear than from raids from dungeons. You could just ask an inkeeper and suddenly get the sinister squashling. You could just get a mount whenever almost.

Then, they announced Cata. I hated it from the moment they said "redoing old world". All the lands I had already beaten were going to be rearranged and destroyed and all my acheivies would mean nothing. All my farming for mounts like tiger and rapter would mean nothing. All of everything that was good might go away and be replaced by, what? The only good announcments in Cata were the goblins were finally a race and finally you could get beyond that stupid gate in undead area, not that worgan are very creative to me. You look like a human, a plain old normal human, part of the time....

Anyhoo, I quit. I had some personal reasons as well, but I quit. I wasn't going to pay money for something that wasn't worth playing. The game had become an endless grind fest. Farm rep, farm acheivies, farm heroics, farm raids, farm pvp, farm farm farm farm. There was nothing fun, just chores, a never ending list of chores.

I got hacked after I quit. Never got hacked once in 4 and a half years of play and suddenly hacked. Was a sign I did the right thing for me at the time. Now, it just makes me feel like I would never catch up if I ever went back.

I watched Pandaria being played by my siblings and looks so dumb to me. The pandas look STUPID. They were def designed for 11 year olds. I feel like the whole game is geared toward that age range now. It is remarkably easy to get to max lvl and insanely easy to do anything. There is only instant gratification in the game anymore. I am one of those weird people who actually wants something to have been worth the effort in the end.

I have no intentions of returning to WoW. There are too many other free games that have better/on par graphics and are funner, more challenging, and I feel like I am playing with adults.

shrug. If you wanna see the youtube RAWR about it
http://youtu.be/JvYX-YdAJdY . Soz about the bad picture quality. Hadn't gotten new web cam yet.
RAWR. :)

Allods Online

RAWR!

So my first youtube rawr was about Allods Online, which is actually a really fun game, that has a low population, mostly due to really bad changes in the past that drove people away. So, of course, now that good changes are done, people aren't flocking back because of the sour taste in their mouth from the past, but it really is a good game

Allods Online is free to play. Allods Online has currancy that you can exchange between the item shop and in game gold, so you litterally can farm in game for any out of item shop things you might want. Allods Online is a massive MMORPG that has creative interesting things to see everywhere and races that are fun.

The graphics are pretty much WoW graphics, but the world is litterally impossible to constrain, due to the layout being that there are 'allods' which are isles floating in the 'astral' (aka, kinda like outer space but cooler). Each allod is totally diff than the last one, so you never get bored from 'same old scenery syndrom' or 'omgoodness, not more stuff I see in rl again conditions'.

The mounts in the game are AWESOME, and there are so many ways to customize your characters, their gear, their stats, their style, that it is rediculous, once in game. There are normal MMORPG things like dungeons, raids, bg's, and dueling. There is crafting and there are reps to grind (though thankfully not for zillions of hours) and there is gear to get. There are also things that are not in other ones like, Goblin ball (litterally goblin is the ball), astral ship battles, searching astral allods, and some really fun world and seasonal events unlike ones in other games.

For instance, there is a special currancy, that is only for holiday events, and it works for each holiday, and some of the holidays are for races, or classes, not just normal ones we have in rl. Also, the outfits are as creative as the mounts and the allods are. You can dress up as almost anything.

The game has almost no death penalty, an auction house with actual timers on the items posted (awesome for outbidding as it expires) and is not EASY. You actually have to learn how to play your class to be good and do well.

For instance, a paladin can tank or do melee dps... blah blah, what pally in any game can't, right? But in Allods, you also manage shields that are part of your skill base, and depending on how you manage them, you can take huge cuts in damage. The shields hold set amounts of damage and disperse it instead of you taking it right away, and hold it for several seconds. While fighting and doing damage to your enemies, you then have to decide, which skill to use to either, half the damage being held, or to fully waive it but have a long cooldown to do so again, or even how hard you are being hit and at what point during these seconds based on your other cooldowns would be best to even break the shield, instead of letting it absorb more of the pain.

As a healing Summoner, you have to not only keep your team alive with heals, but also keep your blood stockpile you absorb from enemies up so you can keep healing, so you have to do some sort of skills or damage to foes to get blood, so in turn you can heal.

You don't just roll your face on the computer and win. I happen to like that. I like brain function.

Some people do complain about runes in this game, but honestly, the whole complaint is fruitless to me. You DO NOT HAVE TO GET MAX LVL RUNES TO BE GOOD!!!!!

Runes go up to lvl 13, but you don't need them. You could do fine on lvl 8 runes, or some people have mentioned lvl 6 runes to me, but you can do max lvl content and full raids and be a good raider with lvl 8. You do NOT have to buy gpots. You can go to their website and run a stupid commercial in the background while playing and farming in game gold and get free gpots from running the vid, and gold to trade for gpots at the same time. You dont' get a zillion, but over a month, you can get enough to get something decent.

There are also 'lucky events' that increase rep, exp gained, rep gain rate increase, drop rates, so on, and they are decided by the PLAYERS, each  week.

I don't understand people complaining about runes, except that they are lazy. It is all I can figure. I have played Allods Online for more than 2 and half years and total spent 150 usd. I spent more than that in a year of subscription to WoW, and had less fun. Just saying.

If you wanna see the RAWR: youtube vid, you can watch. sorry about the bad picture, didn't get my new web cam yet at that point.  http://youtu.be/vc1LX7gJWaw

So that is my RAWR blog about Allods Online.
